500 Headlines About Bitcoin
This is a brilliant idea. Ken called it “open-source copy-write”, as all the headlines he came up with here are free for anyone to use.
More Satellites Launched Next Decade Than in All of Human History
Continuing my optimism from last week, the amount of work that will be done by engineers in the coming decades seems unfathomable.
As an aside, let me pass Casey Handmer’s fantastic analysis on Starlink along now that I’ve got an excuse to do so.
After I wrote this, more news broke that Apple is also working on smallsats.
3D Printed Neighborhoods
More optimism!
The Slack Next Chapter Program
MORE OPTIMISM! I’ve had this idea for a long time now and I’m glad to see a tech company implementing it because it’s a massive net positive for society. This is likely what I’ll work on when my career at Amazon is over.
Career-Launching Companies List
I like including these job listings in Console and will continue to do so any chance I get. A few of the lesser-known names that I’ve been hearing a lot about in the tech space lately are Airtable, Algolia, Chainalysis (for better or worse), Couchbase, Earnin was actually in a previous newsletter, Gong.io (a high school classmate is one of their directors! Shout out to Chris), and Snowflake.
Venezuelan Inflation
Since I graduated high school in the midst of the 2008 recession, I’ve always been fascinated by the health ramifications associated with economics.
I don’t know how true this is, but I’ve seen the factoid circulated online that more deaths were caused by the 2008 financial crisis via suicide than occurred during the World Trade Center attacks.
Next Decade’s China?
I can somewhat support this hypothesis anecdotally by virtue of the fact that a number of my followers across social media are African. Also, quite a few of the users who request to join the two Ethereum Facebook groups that I moderate are also African.
Incoming Market “Melt-Up”
My very first newsletter featured commentary on the T-bill inversion news. I remember like it was yesterday that people were selling stocks on the news of the inevitable recession…
Not that we should hold any stock in what Bank of America has to say about anything either though.
Tesla, Apple, Alphabet, and Microsoft Accused of Child Labor
I normally wouldn’t put content like this in Console, but I was talking with a coworker about this topic last week. We both agreed there should be more over site expected from companies with respect to where their materials are sourced or where their labor comes from if they decide to move it overseas.
