This is correct, we (we have a team of about 5 developers) haven't changed too much about how it all works, just extended it a little and built out a nice backend that supports Web, CLI and Mobile (We have an app called Goryon). We're at a stage now where I'm intending to seek some kind of funding to continue development (we all have day jobs!) and continue to support this small but niche social network :)
Sorry, I got confused because I first read the article thinking it was the buckett's version until I went to the site at the end of the article seeing a totally different project.
I am reassured then I was just starting using twtxt and would have been upset if those were concurrent.
It's actually the same spec/format. Under the hood the jointwt/twtxt backend uses the exact same spec/format as normal files on-disk. If you create and host a `twtxt.txt` file somewhere with some hosting and also put an `avatar.png` next to it, that's it, our twtxt backend will pick that up. if you want to be able to participate over Mobile though, I'd suggest you try out our backend or join an existing pod :) We're still working on things and polishing the experience but yeah its still all twtxt!
Do you know that a minimal microblogging solution already exists by the name of twtxt?
https://github.com/buckket/twtxt
I thought at first this article was related to the buckket repo but it is an entirely new one.
Is it a coincidence?
Yeah, James mentions in the interview that Felix (aka buckett) actually created the project and that he's just extending it further.
